Archie Satterfield continues his memoirs with this second installment, following Fragments. It tells of his struggles with un-diagnosed dyslexia which made his university experience very difficult. In fact, he now knows that professors at all three universities he attended gave him passing grades because they knew he not only had learning disabilities, but that he was very serious about becoming a writer. It also discusses the wonderful friendship he had with a wheat farmer named Chet Bell, whose death in 1980 still bothers Satterfield. Mostly, though, Satterfield writes about those formative years as happy and filled with encouraging people.

This was a most interesting book, for me. This was my hometown and I knew all the folks mentioned in it. I met the author, as best I can recall, the first or second year he worked harvest and have followed his writing career with great interest. It was a real visit back to my youth.Product details
